Violence on TV

TV and nightmares have joined forces to teach me a lesson, says Homer Simpson.

You have been made to delight in violence so that when we send you off to kill some bad man we have put before you, you move without a whimper. Dare I use the words, ‘brainwashed’ or ‘mind control?’…President Clinton is now speaking against violence in Hollywood movies. This will not solve the problem, but will only make the people believe the problem is being worked on. Sex and violence are the very best powers to use to help us gain our advantage. How the people loathe to give up their sex and violence, so we place all they want before them. Student: If you are a democracy inside, then sometimes you hear voices that are not always the most uplifting, but from a darker side; and you can recognize those. But what do you do about those voices?

(It takes courage to be open)

Nebadonia: Yes, my daughter, this is why it takes courage. Again, just let them happen. There’ve been some studies that by the time the average person grows up to be of age in your culture, they‘ve witnessed some ten thousand or more melodramas of death, of people killing one and another in the most imaginative ways that Hollywood can think up. Now many, many decades later into television, there’s such a competition going on of, shall we say, using ever rougher and rougher sandpaper to get you to respond.

So, my dear, your head is full of this. You have thousands and thousands and thousands of hours from your earliest childhood of this kind of entertainment. And at the same time you still live in a very warlike world. There are still nation-states all over the world with their fantastic armaments. And all this too is in your mind. All this too affects every aspect of your life, but especially your government, your politics, your economics. There are genuine things to be fearful of. People have sworn with their deepest faith to kill or eradicate any disbelievers; even willing to give up their own lives for these beliefs.

So all these things, my dear, you have in your mind. Let them come forth, unafraid, and just react naturally. “Phew! - that was an obscene thought!” But you see how by not being too effected by it, you let it go. It is no longer, as you say, sub-rosa, perhaps plaguing you unconsciously. Does this seem something you might want to try?

Q: What is happening to the USA, the country that is supposed to be a model of democracy, freedom and the ‘American dream’? The poor population keeps growing and there is so much violence. Right after an election, they start talking about who will run the next time, and the government fights within itself instead of dealing with the country’s problems.

Matthew: What is happening in the United States isn’t unique to that country—it is going on in stages around the globe. You are in the process of balance being restored to Gaia, Earth’s soul, to her planetary body, and to her residents. As we mentioned earlier, your world is about ten years behind the time when situations such as war, gross disparity between the wealthy and the desperate, and haggling governments would have ceased. Absolutely reconciliation of “sides” in all issues where conflict reigns is coming, but at this moment, the vibrations that evoke the “best” and the “worst” of attitudes and behavior still are prevailing.

That is why political extremists are at their zenith in the US government and, sadly, there is a great deal of violence. Some is rooted in intolerance or fear of religious, ethnic, racial and philosophical differences; some is due to the emotional and mental damage sustained by war veterans; and a few individuals are acting under mind control, either by Illuminati programming or the negative influence of omnipresent violent “entertainment.” It is the same elsewhere—witness the recent hostage situation in Nairobi, suicide bombings, random mass shootings, and other seemingly senseless killings and violent outbursts.

The prominence of crime, war and other violence in films and games is to inure society to those kinds of behaviour and motivate unstable individuals to mimic it.
